I’m Stef, your Pilates Teacher in North London
I am a Certified Level V Classical Pilates Teacher and Movement Educator with a strong background in body movement, contemporary dance and aerialist performance. Originally from the sunny coast of Puglia in the South of Italy, I studied, visited and worked in numerous different countries around the world, settled in the UK for the last 7 years.
From my extensive palette of work, life and cultural experiences, I have acquired a diverse understanding and a broad outlook on the various necessities of people’s needs and how to cater for them.
Coming from a dance background of over 16 years, I am always mastering and ever perfecting the complete expressions of the body and movement. My teaching style is strongly rooted in my dance-movement education and knowledge, blending the precision of the Classical Pilates method with an intuitive and functional understanding of the body.
In the course of the last 5 years, I have applied these skills to my Pilates teaching and established a thriving business in the UK.
Through my experience of delivering private sessions, duets, group classes and online coaching, I have supported hundreds of clients of all abilities to develop their strength, mobility, confidence and wellbeing.
For the past two years I have been an Assistant Teacher for THE MATWORK Teacher Training in London, a 200 hr certification program from pre-Pilates to Level V of the Classical Matwork, hosted by Sabrina Kelly.
My Teaching Approach
Compassion. Care. Attention.
These values sit at the heart of every session.
At home, in the studio, or online, I create a space where you can feel at ease, supported, and truly listened to. My approach is rooted in Classical Pilates, thoughtfully adapted with a modern, functional perspective to support how bodies move and live today.
Choose one-to-one sessions for a deeply personalised experience—each session is tailored to your body, your goals, and your unique needs. Whether you’re building strength, improving mobility, or working with injuries or structural imbalances, the work meets you where you are and evolves with you.
Over the past five years, I’ve supported hundreds of clients in developing strength, improving posture, and moving with greater ease and confidence. Beyond the physical results, Pilates becomes a way to reconnect—with your body, your awareness, and your sense of self. Because when you feel stronger and more connected, confidence follows. And from that place, meaningful, lasting change can happen.
Behind the Name: Marèa
noun. tide
Pronunciation - ma-ray-ah
Definition - the regular, twice-a-day ebbing and flowing movement of the sea.
I wanted a word that brought to mind calm, stability and fierce energy. Whenever I think about the sea, I feel instantly grounded and have a sense of freedom, imagining the expanse of the sea at the horizon. The ebb and flow of the sea is a constant cyclical movement - with its highs and lows, like in life. I thought this was the perfect image to accompany my vision… and so Marèa Movement was born.
