Pilates Classes in Leamington Spa

Are you ready to transform your body, ease the mind and boost your well-being? Join one of our Pilates classes.

I teach the Classical Pilates Method, in accord with the principles and following the original mat work. ‘Contrology’ is the name that Joseph Pilates gave to his system of exercises designed to unify the body and the mind, with stress on focus, good posture, control, breathing, healthy functioning body system and uniform strength.

Why Classical Pilates?

  • Pilates emphasises the correct activation of the core muscles. The limbs are strongly connected to and everything moves to and away from the centre. Working through the system of exercises, Pilates enhances stability, improves posture and body alignment. Muscle tone also increases resulting in long, lean muscles offering a stronger support to the skeleton.

  • Pilates is a low impact form of exercise working through stabilisation, precision and control to improve coordination, balance and proprioception. It is very beneficial to mobilise the joints and improve range of motion. Movement like Pilates helps keep the joints lubricated, which can lead to improved joint health and pain relief. Pilates is often indicated as a way to support rehabilitation or injury prevention, being optimal to enhance everyday activities as well as sport/athletic performance.

  • Pilates exercises are executed with control, precision, and fully connecting the movement to the breathing. The breath plays a central role in finding freedom even in the more challenging exercises. A focused, rhythmical breathing allows the muscles to stay oxygenated, and over time improve flexibility, decreasing muscle stiffness.

  • Pilates is more than just a complex system of exercises. It is a movement philosophy that combines the western approach to physical training and muscle development with the easterns beliefs of training the mind to be focused and centred. By fostering a deeper connection between the body and the mind, you will achieve mental clarity, reduce levels of stress, whilst also restoring physical vitality. The body-mind connection is essential to strengthen the body, invigorate the mind and elevate the spirit.
